AbbyBank Foundation, Inc.
As AbbyBank prospered and grew, our Board of Directors formed The Abbotsford Story, Inc., a charitable foundation to return part of the profits to the surrounding communities. Since 1968, we've paid-it-forward to the communities that contributed to our success.
In 2020, the bank changed the name to AbbyBank Foundation, Inc. to better associate the foundation with AbbyBank. The name change aligned our outreach to AbbyBank's footprint to encourage grant requests in support of nonprofits, school or civic ongoing operations in those communities.
AbbyBank has contributed over $1,730,000 to the AbbyBank Foundation, Inc. and donated $1,351,978.03 back to projects in Abbotsford, Appleton, Gresham, Medford, Shawano, Wausau, Weston and the surrounding areas.
Donations from the AbbyBank Foundation, Inc. are limited to the trade area of AbbyBank, which consists of a 50-mile radius around the Abbotsford, Appleton, Gresham, Medford, Shawano, Wausau, Weston, and Withee communities. Requests are granted twice per year, each March and September, according to the Contribution Policy. Deadlines for submission of requests are March 1st and September 1st for each funding period. All grant requests must be submitted in writing or by completing the AbbyBank Foundation, Inc. grant application. Applicants should be recognized by the IRS as a Tax-Exempt Organization in order to receive consideration.

I’m (or my organization) is not an AbbyBank customer. Can we still apply for a grant?
Yes! All applicants should be recognized by the IRS as a Tax-Exempt Organization.
Does the AbbyBank Foundation grant funds for scholarships, programs, and overhead costs?
Unfortunately, the foundation is unable to grant funds for these purposes. If you have a defined equipment need or a specific construction project, we would be happy to consider your request.
What kind of requests are eligible for a grant?
The AbbyBank Foundation contribution policy states that contributions are to be used to provide funding for schools for updating or creation of defined disciplines, individually or cooperatively, which resources were not included in budgetary planning. Nonprofit organizations for defined equipment or building projects or defined non-consuming civic construction or reconstruction that would have unlimited public access.
