About AbbyBank in Medford
AbbyBank is proud to be located in the city of Medford, Wisconsin since 2016. AbbyBank established a branch in Medford in the fall of 2016 from an acquisition transition with Fidelity National Bank, adding two new locations to our footprint, one of which is our branch conveniently located on South 8th Street, also known as State Highway 13, on the corner of Clark Street in the city of Medford. This location features two drive-thru lanes with a drive-up ATM and houses approximately 20 employees. It also has a community room that is available for free to business customers and nonprofit organizations and for a nominal fee to other business users.
The City of Medford, WI was named to recognize the hometown of Medford, Massachusetts of one of the early railroad investors who helped clear the right of way through Taylor County for the Wisconsin Central Railroad. In 1873, the first train went through this area and a depot was built. At that time, there were just three residents who permanently resided in what is now known as Medford, but the population quickly grew in the next few years and by 1880, had grown to about 2,300 residents. Today, Medford is the county seat of Taylor County and has a population of nearly 4,300 people.
The area is served by the Medford Area Public School District, which is comprised of two elementary schools, a middle school, and a senior high school, as well as an alternative school. In addition, there are two private schools that provide education for some grade levels and a technical college all located in the City of Medford as well. Today, Medford is home to two parks that include an outdoor pool, skate park, playground equipment, multiple park shelters and a small recreational camping area. In addition, between the two parks there are a number of ball diamonds, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a tennis court. Other recreational things to do in the city include two golf courses, a curling club, and recreational trails including the Pine Line Trail which is a multi-use rail trail that extends nearly 30 miles, among other things.
